m.Focus is intended to perform the following tasks:

  • identify target groups of subscribers that satisfy a specified profile (for example, the group of subscribers who have downloaded JAVA games onto their mobile terminals);
  • prepare and perform SMS/MMS mailings to identified subscriber target groups;
  • analyze the effectiveness of mailings.

The log file analysis module identifies and records, in the subscriber request database, all subscriber actions that satisfy the configuration specification. The specification may contain URLs for WAP requests, MSISDN groups and SMS/MMS service numbers.

The WEB interface provides the following capabilities:
  • creating mailings;
  • reviewing mailing status;
  • editing mailing parameters before they are sent;
  • reviewing mailing statistics;
  • deleting mailings.

To create a mailing, the administrator defines its content and parameters. At each step, the system verifies the correctness of the entered parameters.

The following are specified to generate MMS/SMS messages for a mailing:
  • a message template;
  • the URL of the advertised/promoted resource;
  • a text description of the advertised resource;
  • a specification for selecting a subscriber group for the mailing;
  • the number of subscriber recipients (an absolute value or a percentage of the selection).
The following may be specified as mailing parameters:
  • transport method (SMS or MMS) and encoding;
  • date and time of the start of the mailing;
  • the date and time of the end of the mailing;
  • the date and time of mailing statistics collection.

Platform statistics are collected and processed by the m.Stat application.

System monitoring is performed by the m.Check application.
